The core idea behind AFFI 2012 is to deepen cinematic ties between two diverse film cultures and create a unifying platform for the sharing of stories, ideas and possibilities. Our line up this year consists of an eclectic mix of Australian feature films, collaborative documentaries and a selection of contemporary shorts.
Australian film makers continue to experiment with form, challenge traditional narrative and set new trends in storytelling. And by showcasing their work, AFFI’s attempt is to give you a glimpse into the minds of some of the most avant-garde directors of our times! |

| Piracy continues to be one of the most challenging issues facing the industry today. As the AFFI stage transforms into an international forum for cinema and culture, we think it imperative to put the focus on ‘Combating Piracy’ through discussions and debates with all stakeholders that look at how regional and private players can come together to tackle this effectively. |
